The City Museum is dedicating the special exhibition “UN#HEARD OF, this Bruckner!” to the life and work of Anton Bruckner, in particular his relationship with Steyr. On display is the man Bruckner and interactive music installations take visitors into unknown worlds of sound.

A visit to the special exhibition on Leopold von Zenetti (1805-1892), Anton Bruckner’s teacher, is an excursion into the town of Enns in the 19th century. There are many unknown and unexpected details to discover about the living conditions and events in Enns during the organist and choirmaster’s lifetime.

Exhibition at St Florian Monastery

ST. FLORIAN – Augustiner-Chorherrenstift St. Florian

For the first time, the exhibition provides an insight into the stages of the composer’s life and work at the monastery with a large number of documents from the monastery archive. From 1 May 2025, the exhibition will once again be open to the public as part of guided tours organised by the St Florian Monastery. Further information can be found on the monastery’s homepage.

Anton Bruckner's first place of work

WINDHAAG BEI FREISTADT – Alte Schule
from May 2025

The ‘Old School’ commemorates Bruckner’s first engagement as a school assistant. As part of the Bruckner Year, his workplace in Windhaag was redesigned and is open to visitors as a place of learning and remembrance. School classes are also welcome! The digital tour „“Anton und die Detektive” rounds off the experience in Windhaag.
