Konzert der Camerata Medica Wien

Nicolas Radulescu conducts the Camerata Medica orchestra

The orchestra Camerata Medica Wien is conducted by Nicolas Radulescu
Anton Bruckner Symphony No. 4 in E flat major ("Romantic"), WAB 104 2nd version, 1878/1880

Nicolas Radulescu was born in Vienna. After being impressed by the Bruckner performances of Sergiu Celibidache, he received his first conducting lessons from his father, the conductor, composer and organist, Michael Radulescu. He studied early music and applied musicology and completed his conducting studies with Martin Sieghart, former chief conductor of the Linz Bruckner Orchestra, at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in 2006. In the course of his concert career, he has performed in renowned concert halls such as the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Salzburg Mozarteum and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw: He has also worked with well-known soloists and orchestras. Known for promoting young musicians, his work focuses on Anton Bruckner. This has led him to become a consultant for the new Bruckner edition published by the Wiener Musikwissenschaftliche Verlag. Nicolas Radulescu currently conducts the Camerata Medica Vienna, the Lyra Vienna Chamber Orchestra and teaches music history and historical performance practice. Nicolas Radulescu has lived in Bad Kreuzen since 2023.

The Camerata Medica Wien is a non-profit orchestra association currently consisting of 62 musicians: The members are in the main from the medical and pharmaceutical professions and many of them have professional musical training. One of the aims of the association is to revive the tradition of the "Vienna Doctors' Orchestra", which dates back to the early 20th century.
In spring 2004, the Viennese orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Martin Donner, brought this tradition back to life by founding the Camerata Medica Wien.
Originally founded as a chamber orchestra, the orchestra, under the direction of the Viennese conductor, Nicolas Radulescu, has segued to become one that can also include larger symphonic works in its repertoire. Every year, three new complete programmes are developed and presented to the public.
On its 20th anniversary, Camerata Medica Wien can look back on 50 successful concert events, including numerous charity concerts.

Further information on ticket sales will be announced shortly under "Details & Tickets".
