All of Upper Austria becomes a stage

At the press conference on June 29, 2023 with Governor Mag. Thomas Stelzer, Cultural Director Mag.a Margot Nazzal, Mag. Norbert Trawöger, Artistic Director "Anton Bruckner 2024", Mayor Christian Partoll (Ansfelden) and Mayor Bernd Schützeneder (St. Florian), the Bruckner Year was presented as the first Upper Austrian CulturalEXPO.

The OÖ KulturEXPO was initiated to bring cultural topics of supra-regional relevance and central cultural-political significance before the curtain. The 200th birthday of Anton Bruckner is the occasion for launching the OÖ KulturEXPO. For this purpose, Anton Bruckner 2024 will be the premiere: all of Upper Austria will become the stage, with national and international points of contact.

The Upper Austrian KulturEXPO Anton Bruckner 2024 is developing through countless people and institutions on a wide variety of levels. The Department of Culture acts as a coordinating body and also develops its own projects. The major cultural institutions of the province and the city of Linz are important pillars of the Bruckner-Year. The first highlights - primarily from the institutions - were presented in March 2023.

Now we go into the space and show how the OÖ KulturEXPO will turn the entire state into a stage. The "central space" of this OÖ KulturEXPO are the Upper Austrian Bruckner-places - those places with a biographical reference to Anton Bruckner.

These and other locations will be the setting for KulturEXPO in 2024. In joint cooperation with municipalities and local cultural organizers, regional Bruckner-programs will meet KulturEXPO's own projects and collaborations.

In addition, Anton Bruckner 2024 is cooperating with the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut, which will lead to joint projects. Cooperation partner for the implementation of projects in rural areas is the LEADER Region Linz Land with its project Bruckner200 as well as the AB GEM (Anton Bruckner Gemeinsam Erlebbar Machen) project initiated by it.

Many people, art and culture professionals, organizations, municipalities, associations, corporations, institutions and individuals have let themselves be captured by the invitation to celebrate and give the space of KulturEXPO a real abundance of projects.

In addition, there are in-house productions that were also found through a project call at the beginning of 2023. The arc spans from quantum physics to dance performance, from concert to sporting event, from play to art vending machine.

In the Bruckner-Year 2024, culture and music education will play an important role, not only to strengthen Bruckner awareness throughout the country and to find modern approaches to the exceptional Upper Austrian musician, but also to inspire enthusiasm for art & culture in general.
