This is a place where everything takes infinitely long, it is infinitely quiet, a place where mystery is strong. In this enchanted glade, the ten symphonies of Anton Bruckner resonate 666 times longer. A pause of one sole minute in Bruckner's music becomes a silence of eleven hours and six minutes. The rustling of the leaves, birdsong, the creaking of trees and the horns of distant ships are the real sound of Bruckner, namely the sound for him. An all-pervading mystery from 13 February till 10 November 2024.

The KUVA Art Symposium is a format in which the two curators, Michaela Reisenberger and Bibiana Weber, invited visual artists to set up their studios for several days in April 2024 on the premises of Turm 9 - Stadtmuseum. Work was carried out in public on site during the so-called work days on the given theme "Anton between the worlds" around Anton Bruckner. The works created during the symposium will be presented in the special exhibition "Anton zwischen den Welten".

The artists diversify the canon of visual and auditory works and take a contemporary look at Anton Bruckner. The artistic works are a source of inspiration for sonic interpretations. Selected sound artists were commissioned by the exhibition organizers to develop compositions for the works in the show that musically reference the art. The commissioned works of sound mediation will be accessible in the exhibition in the form of sound stations from 21.09.2024.

The two curators are opening up Tower 9 with this project- the Town Museum of the Maximilian Tower Fortification - in a special way.

The artists in the special exhibition "Anton zwischen den Welten" (Anton between the worlds) fan out the canon of visual and aural works and take a contemporary look at Anton Bruckner.

During the KUVA Art Symposium, visual artists set up their studios for several days in Turm 9 - Stadtmuseum. The works created during the symposium are presented in the special exhibition "Anton zwischen den Welten". On the mediation days, there will be a free cultural mediation service available to all visitors from 2-6 pm. Anton Bruckner can be experienced in a new way and from unexpected angles. No registration is required, just a museum ticket.
