Zero and one are behind us for now. What sounds like binary digital code refers to Anton Bruckner's first and zeroth symphonies. The "Tremolo", the prelude to the Bruckner Year, took place on the first weekend in December at the Redoutensaal, where the "First" was premiered. It was a unique experience to be so close to the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and the symphonies. Chief conductor Markus Poschner once again proved himself to be a charismatic mediator, introducing the audience to the world of symphonies as only he can. This was followed by complete renditions of the symphonies, which could not have been more dancing, singing or urgent. The snowfall was followed this weekend by a spirited Bruckner outburst that can probably only take place with this intensity at the source. Bruckner's spirit blows and the Bruckner year begins!

New Year's Concert The official start to the first Upper Austrian KulturExpo is the Bruckner Orchestra's New Year's Concert at the Brucknerhaus. Markus Poschner will conduct a program with dances by jubilant music creators. Not only Bruckner is celebrating a milestone birthday, but also Bedřich Smetana and Arnold Schönberg. Bruckner will also be heard for the first time at the Vienna Philharmonic's New Year's Concert, and the intermission film will focus on Upper Austria's super cultural year! On January 6, the Brucknerbund Ansfelden is organizing a birthday concert for Anton Bruckner in Ritzlhof. The Anton Bruckner Birthday Orchestra will be playing under the direction of Peter Aigner.
Playing Anton! The immersive sound space "Being Anton" and the installation "Playing Anton" will open at the Ars Electronica Center at the end of January. These offer the opportunity to explore Bruckner's world of sound in a completely new way all year round. "Playing Anton!" - developed by the Ars Electronica Futurelab - allows visitors to immerse themselves visually and musically in Anton Bruckner's impressive world of sound together with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and explore its special features interactively. Not just as listeners in front of the stage, but right in the middle of the orchestra.
