On the occasion of the anniversary year, five male choirs from the district of Kirchdorf have joined forces to create a project choir.
The audience will be enchanted by well-known works as well as some rarities reminding them of Bruckner's numerous visits to the Kremstal.

When he was a guest in Kirchdorf, the composer liked to undertake excursions in the surrounding area, including (probably in 1879) to Burg Altpernstein (castle).

There are several anecdotes about a visit to the castle. It was difficult for Bruckner  to negotiate the steep castle path and in part he was 'carried by angels' (sitting on the clasped hands of his companions).
Bruckner wished to be locked up in the castle dungeons (the 'rock dungeons'). The agony of 'imprisonment' moved him greatly and upon his susequent release he is said to have sung Resurrexit ! ('He is risen!'). Anyone who is so inclined can have themselves locked up and then record  their impressions in musical notation. During the Jazz Days on 4 and 5 July, these musical templates will undergo improvisation.

Concert in the Knights' Hall at 14:00 with chamber music on 'Kirchdorf's  Steinway grand piano'.

Refreshments will  be provided at the castle.

As a trombone quartet and vocal ensemble, the Schiffler family performs classical motets and chorales, various works by Bruckner, as well as unconventional, contemporary and experimental oeuvres and other pieces.
Norbert Trawöger leads through the programme - with appropriate texts, letters, anecdotes and stories.
