Wolfern

This device combines organ playing and an ensemble of adapted  playground equipment in a move to create a collective musical instrument in a public space. Different organ pipes are operated by swinging them and bobbing them up and down - this creates an acoustic space in the organ playground that makes Anton Bruckner audible and tangible in both an abstract and playful way.
The SCHORGEL will be set up in various Bruckner-related locations in 2024.

Studio Clemens Bauder | Idea, concept, realisation

The fact that you can get art from a vending machine just like chewing gum, snacks or drinks is no longer something entirely new. However, the inventor of the art vending machine, Helene Huemer, fills it with sculptures, medals, scrolls and drawings as well as comics in the style of Bruckner. The machine is now going on tour through Upper Austria and demands to be filled again and again by creative people. There is a hands-on table for both the young and old where YOU can give your creativity free rein. Get in on the art: model, stamp, draw, write poetry and let us teleport Anton Bruckner, the organ rock star, into the here and now. Insert a 2 euro coin, spin it and plop! You will be rewarded with a surprise such as an original work of art from regional & international artists or from one of the participants.

This event takes place in the context of Frühshoppen, as in Bruckner's time.

In his childhood, Anton Bruckner stayed numerous times with his godmother and great-aunt, Rosalia Mayrhofer, in Wolfern, where his parents also met.

To pay tribute to Anton Bruckner, we take you on a journey back to the Upper Austrian composer's early youth. It is said that Anton Bruckner supplemented his income as a young musician by playing the violin.

The market town of Wolfern and the cultural association would like to invite you to share a morning pint with violinists who enjoy playing for a warm meal. The "Wegerer Schrammel" will provide musical entertainment and pepper the event with short stories about Anton Bruckner. A special highlight of the morning pint will be the "Schorgel", a unique combination of musical instruments and an organ, which will be touring the whole of Upper Austria this year.

Cultural association and the market town of Wolfern

Organist | Bernhard Prammer, titular organist of the Bruckner organ in the Old Cathedral in Linz
Bernhard Prammer will play organ improvisations as well as music by Anton Bruckner and his musical entourage.

9:10 a.m.: Start of the competition drive for classic cars at the main square in Traun.
The route leads via Hörsching to Kremsmünster, Schlierbach, Kirchdorf a. d. Krems, Steyrling, Sierning-Neuzeug, Wolfern, Kronstorf, Ansfelden to St. Florian.

Admission to the organ recitals in Schlierbach Abbey Church, Steyrling Parish Church, Kronstorf Parish Church and St. Florian Abbey Church is free of charge.
